Pepperrell Cove, Kittery Point, Maine
This is not a beach or playground but it is a MUST stop if you are in southern Maine. I would even argue that Pepperrell Cove is worth the drive alone and I’m sure people drive far to visit here.
Restaurants
Pepperrell Cove has 3 restaurants all under the same owners and they also do weddings here! One of them is Frisbee’s Wharf, right on the water, and you have to check it out! They are only open in the summer months as it gets so cold on the water. It is important to note, make sure you make a reservation. Frisbee’s Wharf books up days in advance but it’s such a beautiful spot so I highly recommend it. The other two restaurants are inside and are so beautiful and the food is amazing, but I think they are better for a date night than bringing kids.
Provisions Store
This little store is what we really love! They have plenty of grocery items for something quick to grab if you are in the area. They also have coffee, fresh baked scones, cookies and muffins and simple, but delicious breakfast sandwiches with bacon or sausage. We love grabbing a treat and sitting at one of the few picnic tables by the harbor and watching the boats come and go. If you get there early enough you can even watch some lobstermen going out for the day! If you want to check this place out in the afternoon, like after a beach trip to Fort Foster, they have ice cream there! Again, the views are gorgeous and you can’t beat it! The provisions store is seasonal and open in the warmer months so make sure you make a trip this year!
