Coastal Children’s Museum, Rockland, Maine
This is a quick post because it’s not an outdoor activity but I have to throw it on here because it was very cute and easy for a morning activity if you are in the area! To add more fun, we went to Owl’s Head State Park after and had a picnic. It’s a short drive, so check out my post linked below on that if you are looking for a beautiful adventure!
Location and Parking
Coastal Children’s Museum is located in Rockland, Maine and was about 45 minutes from where we were staying when we were on a family vacation. Since I love outdoor activities, I really wanted to check out Owl’s Head State Park and that was our goal for the day. The kids needed a little play time though and this was a perfect spot before we went to a beach! The museum is far enough away from any downtown area that there is a free parking lot with plenty of spots.

Things to do at the museum
I love small spaces with plenty to offer! There are only 3 rooms for kids to play in and all on one level, but still so much to do! There is a small boat for them to climb in and a small slide in one room. Another room has a large food area for them to play pretend food. There is then a separate area with train tracks, an arts and crafts table and a lot of learning regarding the ocean and seashells that I didn’t even know about.
There is a small outdoor space that is fenced in as well! Leaving was hard, of course, because then they wanted to play outside!
