Pemaquid Beach Park

Pemaquid Beach Park with kids

Pemaquid Beach Park, New Harbor, Maine

I really don’t have any pictures from here as we haven’t been here in years! But it is definitely on my list of places to check out soon and I will update this post once I do. I just wanted to make sure if you are in the area you are prepared and pack accordingly!

Location

This is located right in between Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Fort William Henry, so it would make for a fun day to do the beach in the morning and then check out the lighthouse or fort or both! I linked both below!

Fees and Parking

To enter there is a fee of $5 for adults and children over 12, $1 for children 4-11 and free for kids under 4! There is a large parking lot but when we drove by it around 11am, during a week day in the summer it looked pretty full. So I would probably say to go first and then check out the lighthouse!

AMenities

What I remember liking about this beach is how easy it was to access from the parking lot. It’s not a far walk so you don’t have to worry about carrying all the beach gear and kids for awhile. There’s large bathroom facilities with showers to clean off from the beach.

There is also a restaurant located in the beach shack right on the beach. Check out the website link below for more info!

No Dogs allowed

Something important to note is that dogs are not allowed here from May-October. They are allowed, however, at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. So if you are planning on visiting make sure you leave your dog at home!
